Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
InvoiceMaker ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website https://yourdomain.com (the "Service"). We provide a free, browser-based invoice generation tool that allows users to create, customize, and download professional invoices as PDF documents.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you use our invoice generator tool, you enter invoice data including your name, business name, email address, address, and your client's corresponding information. This data is processed entirely within your browser (client-side) and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers unless you use our optional email-sending feature.
If you use the Send Email feature, the following information is sent to our server solely for the purpose of delivering your invoice:
- The recipient email address you enter
- Your name (used in the email subject and body)
- The invoice number
- The PDF file of your invoice (generated from the data you entered)
This data is processed by our email service provider (Resend.com) and is not retained by us after the email is sent.
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our Service:
- Log data: IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on pages, referring URL
- Device information: device type, operating system, screen resolution
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 4 below
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect:
- We do not collect or store the invoice content you create (names, amounts, business details) — this stays in your browser
- We do not require you to create an account or provide your email address to use the core tool
- We do not collect payment card information
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Service — process email send requests when you use that feature
- Analyze and improve the Service — understand how users interact with our tool to improve usability and add features
- Serve relevant advertisements — display ads through Google AdSense to keep our Service free (see Section 6)
- Ensure security — monitor for abuse, fraud, or technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from authorities when required
Legal basis for processing (GDPR): We process your data under the following legal bases: (a) legitimate interests for analytics and security; (b) your consent for non-essential cookies and advertising; (c) performance of a contract when you use the email-send feature.
5. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our Service. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, time on site, geographic region (country/city level), device type, and traffic source.
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users. The data collected is processed by Google LLC. We have enabled IP anonymization so that the last part of your IP address is masked before being stored.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For more information about how Google processes this data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Google AdSense
Our Service is funded through advertising. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to collect data about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide relevant advertisements.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or www.youronlinechoices.eu (for EU residents).
7. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Resend.com to process email delivery when you use the Send Email feature. Resend acts as a data processor and handles your email data solely for this purpose.
- Analytics: Anonymized usage data is shared with Google Analytics as described in Section 5.
- Advertising: Data may be shared with Google for advertising purposes as described in Section 6.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect our legal rights.
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
8. Data Retention
Since our core tool is browser-based, your invoice data is stored in your browser's local memory and is not retained by us after you close the tab.
For data collected automatically (analytics, logs), we retain this for a maximum of 26 months in line with Google Analytics' default retention period, after which it is automatically deleted.
Email delivery logs (when you use the Send Email feature) are retained by Resend for up to 30 days for troubleshooting purposes, after which they are deleted.
